The beautiful country known as Thailand is renowned for its stunning islands, each offering a unique blend of natural beauty, vibrant culture, and exciting activities. If you're dreaming of a tropical getaway, here are some of the best islands in Thailand that should be on your travel list.

First on my list would be Phuket, Thailand's largest island and a top tier destination for tourists. Phuket is known for its beautiful beaches, lively nightlife, and rich cultural heritage, this island has something for everyone. Patong Beach is famous for its amazing atmosphere and water sports, while Kata and Karon beaches offer a more relaxed vibe. Also! Don't miss a visit to the Big Buddha, which provides stunning panoramic views of the island. For those looking for adventure, there are plenty of options, including island-hopping tours to nearby Phi Phi Islands or exploring the lush jungles on a zip-lining adventure.

Next up is Koh Samui, an island that perfectly balances luxury and beauty. With palm-fringed beaches and crystal-clear waters, Koh Samui is ideal for relaxation. Chaweng Beach is the most popular, known for its nightlife and restaurants. For a more peaceful experience, visit Lamai Beach or the secluded beaches of the northern coast. Koh Samui is also home to the famous Wat Plai Laem, a colorful temple featuring a giant statue of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy. Don't forget to indulge in a traditional Thai massage at one of the many spas scattered across the island.

The beaches here are less crowded, making it a perfect spot for relaxation. Long Beach is great for sunbathing, while Kantiang Bay offers a more secluded experience. Koh Lanta is also a great base for exploring nearby islands like Koh Rok and Koh Haa, known for their incredible snorkeling and diving spots. The island is home to a national park, where you can hike through outstanding jungles and spot wildlife.

Lastly, Koh Tao is renowned for its exceptional diving opportunities. This small island is a diver's paradise, with several dive schools and beautiful coral reefs. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced diver, Koh Tao has something for everyone. Ao Leuk and Shark Bay are popular spots for snorkeling, where you can swim with colorful fish and even spot blacktip reef sharks. Beyond diving, Koh Tao offers stunning viewpoints, such as John-Suwan Viewpoint, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the island.

Thailand's islands offer a diverse range of experiences, from the busy beaches of Phuket to the serene shores of Koh Lanta. Whether you're seeking adventure, relaxation, or cultural exploration, these islands are sure to provide the perfect tropical getaway. So pack your bags and get ready to experience the beauty of Thailand!

 Hello everyone! In my last blog, I chatted about the backstory of Thailand for my family and touched on the busy-ness of Pattaya in particular. I also listed some places that we have visited and would highly recommend. Today I  will be talking about another, very different, experience I had in Thailand. We as a family are aware that Thailand as a country, have been working towards reducing poverty for many  years. According to MacroTrends, in 2021, the country had a poverty rate of 12.2%, which was a 2.9% decline from 2017.  With this in mind, we had spoken to my grandparents about what organisations were in Thailand to help support people in poverty or with poor family situations.
