The History of Thailand πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡

Hi guys! Today I'm going to talk a bit on Thailand's history. Thailand, known for its vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and rich history, has a narrative that spans thousands of years. The history of Thailand is a tapestry woven from various influences, including indigenous traditions, Indian culture, and the impact of colonialism. The earliest known inhabitants of Thailand date back to prehistoric times, with archaeological evidence suggesting human activity as far back as 40,000 years ago. The region was home to various tribes, and by the first millennium BCE, the Mon and Khmer civilizations began to emerge. These cultures laid the groundwork for what would become the Kingdom of Thailand. In the 13th century, the Sukhothai Kingdom rose to prominence, often regarded as the first true Thai kingdom. Founded by King Ramkhamhaeng, Sukhothai is credited with developing the Thai script and promoting Theravada Buddhism, which remains the dominant religion in Thailand today. The k...

Take Care Kids ❀️

Image
Hello everyone! In my last blog, I chatted about the backstory of Thailand for my family and touched on the busy-ness of Pattaya in particular. I also listed some places that we have visited and would highly recommend. Today I  will be talking about another, very different, experience I had in Thailand. We as a family are aware that Thailand as a country, have been working towards reducing poverty for many  years. According to MacroTrends, in 2021, the country had a poverty rate of 12.2%, which was a 2.9% decline from 2017.  With this in mind, we had spoken to my grandparents about what organisations were in Thailand to help support people in poverty or with poor family situations. We then got involved with the β€œTake Care Kids Onlus and Thailand Foundation”. This is an organisation, based in Pattaya, which is volunteer based. This group was created to establish safety and protect children and also single mothers with children from violence and different types of sev...

My grandparents made the decision to embark on this new journey together and moved to Thailand full time. Their business is now known as "Nicky's Bar" which is located in Pattaya City, on Soi Buakhao. This is a very busy area for locals and tourist and it is renowned for it's vibrant night life. My first trip to Thailand was with my parents when I was 6 months old, since then, I have visited the country almost 30 times with my parents and younger sister! When I was young, my family mostly travelled to Thailand over the winter months as it was still hot and sunny there a...
